You will also support and assist in the recruitment, training, support and supervision of our complementary therapy volunteers and trainees.You will also be responsible for providing risk assessed complementary therapy treatment, for individuals and groups, in our hospice setting and in the community too.This Fixed Term Contract post is offered on a part time basis working up to 30 hours per core hours are 5pm, Monday to Friday, but we are open to discussing flexibility across the working week.

Therole will sit within the Therapy Team of Occupational Therapy andPhysiotherapists.Thepost holder will be setting up the new Complementary Therapy service at theHospice which will require leadership, organisational and service developmentskills.
They will ensure that their teamis able to provide the best possible care in collaboration with the MDT,ensuring the patient and their family are at the centre of decision-making.
Asthe Lead, the post holder will be required to plan, deliver, review and evaluate the ComplementaryTherapy service at St Catherines Hospice.
They will also supportand assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of ComplementaryTherapy volunteers and staff.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Diploma in Massage and Anatomy and Physiology, Aromatherapy and reflexology to level 3 or equivalent.
Member of a professional body such as FHT, AOR or, CTHA.
Desirable Diploma in Reflexology Diploma in Indian head massage to level 3 Additional therapy qualifications, , reiki, meditation/relaxation, pedicure/manicure Attitudes and Behaviours Essential Friendly and compassionate nature Understanding of palliative care and the challenges experienced by patients and families Able to cope with emotional environments, aware of professional boundaries and motivated to access support/reflection when required Ability to plan own work and excellent time management skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships Able to recognise professional boundaries Drive to develop and enhance service offering Experience Essential Experience of working post-qualification as a Complementary Therapist To have experience of providing holistic, patient centred Complementary Therapy support to patients and carers Excellent and effective listening, communication and people skills Experience of conducting in-depth initial assessments/ screening in individuals with medical conditions Management of a caseload of patients and knowledge of working with people with complex needs Experience of leading others in your role Experience of multi-disciplinary working/ inter-agency team working Proficient in the use of a range of IT applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Confident in working flexibly and in different environments Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Able to work independently and deliver objectives within a given timeframe Able to recognise and work within professional boundaries Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Current driving licence Desirable Experience of offering treatment in a palliative or end of life care setting, or with patients receiving end of life care in the community Experience of working with people with complex needs Experience of using electronic patient records Past experience of successful involvement in developing new services and of evaluating and implementing service improvements Experience of planning and delivering training informally and formally Knowledge and experience of using outcome measures in practice Knowledge of relevant national policy and practice initiatives in palliative and end of life care Experience of working with and managing volunteers
