We offer therapy sessions on site at Rowcroft and out in the community.
Main duties of the job What you'll bringA recognised qualification in Massage plus another therapy such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Shiatsu, Bowen.
You need to be insured and registered with an appropriate professional body and able to drive to see patients in their own homes.

As amember of our Complementary Therapy Team, you will deliver this by providingtherapeutic support in one-to-one sessions and/or group sessions for patients,carers and bereaved people on site at Rowcroft and within the Rowcroftcatchment area.Our Values: Honesty & Integrity Generosity of Spirit Respect Team PlayerKey roles and responsibilities:Tailor therapy assessment and treatment, with attention to patients individualneeds and preferences, spanning physical, emotional, social and spiritualdimensions, adapting therapy input as their condition changes.Organise and plan own caseload to meet service.
Plan patient prioritiesand needs and maintain comprehensive records of treatment.Initiate effective communication within the complementary therapy teamand the wider multidisciplinary team, plus external agencies as appropriate.Promote a culture of continuous learning & development andwellbeing.
Identify your own learning and development needs and ensure yourmandatory and essential training is up to date.
Undertake continuousprofessional development and clinical supervision where appropriate.
Help tocreate an environment that is continually questioning practice and promotinglearning.Play an active part promoting, encouraging and supporting our teamvolunteers.This list can never be exhaustive but covers mostof the work youll be doing.
What it cant replace is your ability to care, yourtalent, your initiative and commitment to great customer service.InfectionPreventionAll Rowcroft Hospice employees in both clinicaland non-clinical roles are required to adhere to the Infection Preventionand Control Policies and make every effort to maintain high standards ofinfection control at all times to reduce the burden of Healthcare AssociatedInfections including MRSA.
Youagree to the following responsibilities:To decontaminate your hands prior to and afterdirect patient care or contact with the patient's surroundings.To take part in mandatory infection controltraining provided.
To responsibly manage your own infections (otherthan common colds and illness) that may be transmittable to patients, includingto contact Occupational Health for guidance.Placeof WorkThisrole has been identified as a Field worker (role could be carriedout at a Rowcroft site or other location, subject to the varying needs of therole.
Will spend planned time atRowcroft sites, or other locations as the role requires, which could includepatients homes and Rowcroft and non-Rowcroft locations to meet the needs ofthe service).
Thiswill be fully discussed and agreed with the postholder to meet individual andbusiness needs.
Person Specification Knowledge and Skills Essential Ability to work independently.
IT skills for accurate patient record keeping.
Desirable Empathic listening skills.
Reflective practice to promote self-development.
Personal Requirements Essential Leadership through creative problem solving, a positive can-do attitude and a willingness and desire to ensure all, who come into contact with Rowcroft, have the best possible experience.
A desire to be part of a committed and hardworking team in line with the ethics and values of Rowcroft Hospice, always acting in the best interests of Rowcroft.
Desirable A good understanding of the purpose, values and strategy of Rowcroft Hospice.
Qualifications Essential Qualified in massage and one other therapy , aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, shiatsu, Bowen.
Anatomy and physiology qualification.
Registration and insurance with appropriate professional body.
Full UK driving licence and able to drive to home visits.
Desirable Qualification in teaching relaxation techniques.
Qualification in teaching mindfulness.
CPD portfolio.
Experience Essential Practical experience of working in the complementary therapy industry.
Desirable Empathic listening skills.
Reflective practice to promote self-development.
