Job Title: Compensation & Benefits Manager Department: Human Resources Reports To: Head of Human Resources Due to ongoing growth we have an exciting new opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented Compensation & Benefits Manager in our Bradford office.  Role Purpose:  The main purpose of this role is to develop and manage Nano's compensation structure, benefits programme, and payroll administration to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and legal compliance.
The role involves designing, implementing, and managing reward programmes and strategies that align with Nano's goals, while ensuring effective payroll operations.
The jobholder will supervise the payroll administrator(s) and work closely with other HR teams to provide comprehensive support to employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:  Compensation strategy & design Develop and maintain a comprehensive salary structure, including pay grades and incentive programs, to attract and retain talent.
Conduct salary benchmarking and market analysis to ensure compensation packages are competitive within the industry.
Oversee quarterly and annual compensation reviews, including salary adjustments and performance-based increases and/or bonuses.
Develop and update job evaluation processes to classify roles accurately and ensure equitable compensation.
Benefits administration Design and manage employee benefits programs, including employee perks.
Evaluate and select benefits providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective benefit offerings.
Ensure benefits programs are communicated effectively to employees and handle inquiries or concerns.
Monitor the utilisation and cost-effectiveness of benefits programs and suggest improvements where necessary.
Manage wellness initiatives to enhance employee well-being and satisfaction.
Payroll oversight Supervise the payroll administrator(s) to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Review payroll processes, ensure compliance with tax laws, and oversee adjustments for increases, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll items.
Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Handle escalated payroll issues and liaise with external payroll service providers as needed.
Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
Compliance & reporting Ensure compliance with all relevant compensation and benefits laws and regulations, such as labour laws, tax legislation, and employee benefits standards.
Prepare and submit mandatory reports related to compensation, benefits, and payroll.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, legislation, and best practices to keep programs relevant and compliant.
Employee communication & support Develop communication plans for compensation and benefits programs to ensure employees are well-informed.
Conduct training sessions or informational meetings about benefits, payroll processes, and compensation policies.
Address employee concerns related to pay, benefits, and compensation policies with professionalism and empathy.
Team management Supervise, mentor, and develop the payroll administrator(s), ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing.
Provide performance feedback, set goals, and develop the skills of the payroll team member(s).
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the team.
General Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure quality standards are adhered to.
Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time-to-time.
Qualifications and Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (CIPD Level 5 or higher preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in compensation, benefits, and payroll management.
In-depth knowledge of UK employment law, HMRC guidelines, payroll processes, and best practices in compensation and benefits.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, with advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
High level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.


Nominal Salary: To be agreed
