The service works with people between the ages of 14 - 65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

The successful applicants will work exclusively with individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis across Sunderland and South Tyneside.
You will be able to work autonomously and will be willing and able to develop your skills and knowledge for this specialist role.
You will be involved in completing holistic assessments and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to people on your caseload.
The service is committed to developing the skills of practitioners, so there will be ongoing opportunities to develop further clinical skills and participate in research.
Main duties of the job Working in the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team is an excellent opportunity for Community Practitioners to offer care and support on a recovery focused journey for people aged 14-65 years who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis.
Our team works closely with the service users and their families over a three year period, during this time we offer a range of therapeutic inventions to support their recovery and mental health needs.
Practitioners will work with service users to support them to develop an understanding around their symptoms using a collaborative approach to care planning based on NICE guidance.
To deliver evidenced based Clinical and Psychologically Interventions.
Participation in duty rota.
To support health promotion of service users.
Promote a culture of learning, education and professional development including mentoring students on placement.
Adhere to the principles of safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in line with Trust Policy and local reporting procedure.
To undertake and record comprehensive risk assessments, devise and implement risk management plans for clients using the Biopsychosocial Risk Assessment Tool.

Person Specification Education & Qualification Essential First Level Registration RMN/RNMH/RNLD Qualification Experience of working with service users and carers in successful delivery of treatment plans Multi-disciplinary team work.
12 months post registration experience, and completed preceptorship Desirable Therapy Based Training ENB 998 / P126/127 Student Assessor /Mentor Post registration clinical experience Knowledge and Experience Essential Knowledge of relevant contemporary professional theories of mental health care and evidence based interventions.
