Exciting Opportunity for a Learning Disability Nurse within LDCAMHS Cheshire.We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Learning Disability Nurse to join our LD CAMHS team.
In this role, you will provide high-quality behavioural and sleep assessments and interventions to children and young people who have a Severe Learning Disabilities and who exhibit challenging behaviours.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualised care plans aimed at improving outcomes for our clients.

Main duties of the job Key responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive behavioural and sleep assessments for children and young people who have a Severe Learning Disability.Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of each individual.Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, care plans, and interventions.Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as required.Travel across the Cheshire area as needed to provide timely support to clients.The post holder would also be required to provide group workshops to parents.
The post holder would be joining an established community team consisting of Learning Disability Nurses, Advanced Clinical Support Workers, Assistant Psychologists, a Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist and Admin staff.. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities).
Desirable Mentorship Relevant degree.
Behaviour/mental health qualification Knowledge and Expertise Essential Learning Disability and child related policy.
Current best practice in learning disability nursing.
Knowledge about Safeguarding children.
NHS policy/practice, health improvement/public health agenda.
Excellent communicator - written and oral.
Proven, demonstrable experience of innovation and commitment to lifelong learning.
Desirable Knowledge and understanding of Mental health issues for people with learning disabilities.
Experience Essential Experience of working with people with a learning disability.
Desirable Previous Community Nurse experience.
Experience of working in CAMHS.
Experience of positive parenting initiatives.
Experience of working with children with Severe Learning Disabilities and mental health problems and their families/carers.
