This is an exciting time to join our growing organisation and make a meaningful impact.About the RoleThe Community & Collaboration Co-ordinator will be responsible for fostering connections, encouraging collaboration, and sharing information across Catalyst 4 Change's community development, research, engagement, and capacity-building programmes.You will work closely with team members to engage Black communities, Catalyst's registered members, voluntary and statutory organisations, and other stakeholders.
Your goal will be to co-develop culturally appropriate mental health and wellbeing services that meet the needs of Birmingham and West Midlands communities.Key Responsibilities; - Facilitate linkages and collaboration across all Catalyst 4 Change programmes.
- Work with Black communities, voluntary organisations, and other stakeholders to co-design culturally sensitive mental health services.
- Raise awareness of mental health issues and address barriers to service access, stigma, and mistrust within Black communities.
- Collaborate with individuals and organisations to rebuild confidence in mental health services.Skills and KnowledgeWe are looking for someone who has: - In-depth knowledge of the experiences and challenges faced by people of African and Caribbean descent and the factors affecting their health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Experience in coordinating and delivering community outreach programmes within Black communities.
- Strong understanding of systemic racism, institutional barriers, and their impact on individuals and communities.
- Commitment to anti-racist practice and the social model of disability.
- Knowledge or experience of issues faced by individuals with poor mental health and the interconnectedness of mental and physical health.
