The company is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Commis Chef to join their award-winning team in Sittingbourne.
Main duties of the job As a Commis Chef, you will assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.
Your responsibilities will include supporting all chefs to manage and deliver catering services, preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, and catering for special dietary needs.
You will work in different areas of the kitchen on a rotation program.

We recognise and celebrate our hard-working colleagues, support your career development with a variety of apprenticeships, and provide you with access to a range of leisure and retail discounts.We are now seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our friendly, award-winning team as Commis Chef.ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Commis Chef, your primary role will be to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking will work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme.Other responsibilities will include: Supporting all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
Participating in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements.
This must include knowledge of cultural and religious preferences.
Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
Preparing special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs.ABOUT YOUTo be successful in your application, you will live our values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do.Our ideal candidate must: Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
