We are recruiting for a Commercial Product Manager to join Tarmac.
You will work with a regional focus but also strong interactions across a national platform within the Tarmac business.
This role is working across our South East region and therefore is commutable from all major town, cities and villages in the Southeast andare easily accessible via most major road networks with locations including; but not exhaustive London, Bromley, Stratford, Walthamstow, Woolwich, Greenwich, Waltham Abbey, Potters Bar, St Albans, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Romford, Witham, Colchester, Brighton, Hove, Shoreham-by-Sea, Saltdean, Peacehaven, Newhaven, Seaford, Eastbourne, Polegate, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Crawley, Horsham, Worthing, Storrington, Horsham.

Main Responsibilities The Commercial Product Manager will be experienced in the commercial aspects of Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete, Surfacing and Pave technology and drive the teams to deliver for both operational and business growth.
You will be the SME and this is a key role in the commercial team to ensure development focussed on profitable products with a confirmed market and predicted profitability return.
You will have the ability to problem solve, innovate, and drive commercial technical performance to the highest levels.
As the Commercial Product Manager must be well-versed intechnical construction methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals of differing skills levels to achieve the best results.
The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organisational skills.
Your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive): Work closely with; Marketing, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Customers and Technical Teams.
This role will support the unit role out of products and provideguidance/expertise for products and applications, to add value for the business and customers or when issues arise You will have impact in the business on ensuring that consumer driven product demands have technical solutions linked to slow moving stocks and increased margins wherever possible Strive to differentiate Tarmac from our competition by providing a unique level of service/support in terms of specification writing, product selection and sustainability advice Maximise VAP sales through identification of opportunities and technical solutions Ensure knowledge transfer across regions on slow moving stock solutions, from both a technical and end user / market prospective Regular liaison and support to selected Local Authorities, targeted Key Contractors and National Contracting in sector and/ geographical locations to increase VAP sales Intelligent focussed VAP promotion based on national and local targets with based on projected profit / return at specific supply units.
Attend Commercial meetings and identifying and supporting associated opportunities, with identifying slow moving VAPs and contributing to creating action plans to improve sales Participate in the practical development of new products and facilitation of any related trials and ensuring successful launch of new products within the Region and thereafter support and monitor longer term sales progress Support commercial in the review, support and assessment of Accredited Contractors, including advice and control of the use of Tarmac VAPs Products Paving the way to assist with securing supplies to longer term Local Authority Framework Contracts either via National Contracting or material supply deals with incumbent or newly successful contractors Identify in conjunction with client feedback, future R&D opportunities Promote Tarmac VAPs at industry conferences and events Key Stakeholders: Commercial Director Regional Commercial Teams Regional & National Technical Teams Regional Operational Teams Centres of Excellence You will hold a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant in the role will be instrumental in the future development and support of our culture.
You will have experience from a commercial aspect as a Commercial Product Manager within a Quarrying, Construction, Highways or Surfacing industry with knowledge of Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete, Pave and Surfacing, at least 1 of these experiences will be an essential requirement for this role.
