Co-Founder & Community Growth Officer, SPOKE Seeking an exceptional person with the ability to scale community growth across underrepresented communities in the UK and/or US (for now must be English speaking & resonant with UK-led music).
Location: Remote (Flexible within Global Time Zones) Compensation: Equity-based with long-term potential for salary once funding is secured.
The right candidate will earn in majority shares, be a core board member and have voting rights for all decisions.
This role is for someone who may already have a large community, has the power to bring SPOKE to larger audiences, or is an exceptional growth-minded individual with a great track record passionate about moving into deeply impactful work.
About SPOKE SPOKE is a mental wellness app on a mission to serve communities with a transformative, healing and connective mental health experience.
SPOKE is focusing heavily on a decolonised mission of well-being.
This means we centre embodied forms of healing, collective care, community and empowering the voices that are most culturally relevant for young people, namely, grassroots artists.
Through culturally relevant, music-driven mental wellness tools, we bring the transformative power of music and community into the healing cycle, making mental health support intuitive, enjoyable, and accessible.
At SPOKE, we're pioneering the "music for healing and social change" space, driven by the philosophy that mental health solutions should truly reflect and serve the communities that need them most.
We are at a pivotal growth stage and are seeking a Co-Founder & Growth / Community professional who shares our vision, understands the nuances of underrepresented communities, such as those from BIPOC backgrounds, and is excited to lead our next chapter of growth.
This role is for someone who wants to make a big change , sees the long-term potential, and is ready to commit to building the company, community, and movement that SPOKE represents.
Role Summary You will be the driving force behind our community and growth strategy, leading SPOKE in establishing a strong, scalable consumer base.
You'll become the face of the company, sharing your mission and vision with the world, and connecting with diverse communities and key partners.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of mental health for both the BIPOC community and help evolve the model of 'Western Wellness', plus to make an enduring impact in the field of wellness and social change globally.

Key Responsibilities Community Growth & Engagement: Develop and execute strategies for building and scaling a highly engaged community, particularly within the BIPOC demographics.
Lead on social media, events, and partnerships that drive organic growth and app downloads.
Strategic Vision & Leadership: Work closely with a small team to refine and execute the vision and mission.
Serve as a spokesperson for SPOKE, sharing the story and impact.
Growth Marketing & Distribution: Develop and implement distribution channels and partnerships to increase app visibility, user acquisition, and retention.
Fundraising & Business Development: Collaborate on securing funding and partnerships, with the understanding that compensation will grow as the company scales.
User-Centric Product Development: Bring a deep understanding of the community's needs, helping to shape features and content that resonate and deliver value to users.
Ideal Candidate Profile Community Builder: Proven ability to engage, nurture, and grow communities, especially within BIPOC communities.
You understand the cultural dynamics and are passionate about creating impactful experiences.
Bold Visionary: Big-picture thinking with the ability to execute ambitious plans.
You're not afraid to dream and take risks in the name of impact.
Growth & Marketing Savvy: Experience in building growth channels and distribution for consumer-focused apps.
You know how to create buzz, build traction, and turn first-time users into dedicated community members.
Passionate about Mental Health & Social Change: Deeply committed to mental health equity, social healing, and creating solutions that work for real people.
Self-Starter & Relentlessly Committed: Excited to lead with a lean, startup mentality.
This role requires a long-term vision, tenacity, and dedication to building the company from the ground up.
Comfortable with Equity-Based Compensation: Willing to join at a founder level with equity as primary compensation, with a shared focus on future fundraising to secure salaries.
