The CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator is tasked with programming, setting up, and operating CNC Turning Machines to produce high-precision aerospace components.
This role requires expertise in CNC turning, including multi-axis lathes, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities: CNC Programming: Develop programs for CNC 2 & 3-axis lathes with live tooling using Fanuc controls to ensure precise and efficient machining.
Machine Setup & Production: Set up machines and produce initial components, ensuring they meet all specifications and tolerances.
Multi-Machine Operation: Operate multiple CNC lathes as required to achieve production targets.
Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed machine setup documentation for consistency and future reference.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest cutting technology and seek opportunities to enhance CNC machining processes.
Liaison: Collaborate with management to meet production deadlines and proactively address any challenges.
Technical Support: Assist in developing and implementing solutions to production-related issues.
Quality Assurance: Work with Engineering and Quality teams to uphold company procedures and quality standards.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Team Support: Support team members and mentor new staff as needed.
Health & Safety: Follow all Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Additional Duties: Perform other relevant tasks to support machine shop operations as required.
Experience & Skills: Essential: Extensive experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating 2-axis and multi-axis lathes with a tolerance of 0.008mm, using Fanuc controls.
Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment.
Experience in the aerospace industry.
Ability to work with both Metric and Imperial measurements.
Strong computer literacy and methodical approach to work.
