Location : Penryn, Cornwall TR10 Our client are designers and manufacturers of steering gear, Supplying the superyacht, military, commercial and fishing sectors, they offer Rudder package, design and manufacture The operator must be capable of programming/operating an CNC Lathe and/or Mill to machine small batch items out of various metals.
Experience on XYZ machines / Protrak is desirable but not essential.
Skills and competencies Software skills: you dont have to be a software expert, but you need to learn how to use specific computer programs Physical strength: to work as a CNC machinist, you need to be able to stand for long periods and engage in physical activity.
Detail-oriented skills: have an eye for detail Multi-tasking skills: HOURS OF WORK Your normal hours of work are 39 per week as follows: Monday 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Wednesday 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Thursday 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Friday 8.00 am to 3:30 pm SALARY £13 15PH depending on experience Any additional hours worked will be paid at your normal hourly rate.
All payments will be subject to normal deductions for tax and national insurance contributions.
You will be given a payslip each pay period detailing how your pay has been calculated.
ANNUAL LEAVE Our holiday year runs from the 1 st January and ends on 31 st December each year.
You are entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday during each full holiday year, (pro rata for part time employees-subject to a maximum of 28 days in a full holiday year) and will be paid at your normal basic rate of pay.
If your employment with us commences part way through a holiday year, you will receive a pro-rata holiday entitlement.
