Job summary We have a position available for a Clinical Trials Administrator to join the Cancer Theme of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU).We are looking for a well organised candidate with administrative experience and an interest in research to assist in the provision of high-quality clinical trials.
The post available is a non-patient facing role, requiring individuals to interact with the whole coordination team (>40 members) or within specified portfolios, as required.
The role involves helping to produce clinical trials files, archiving, tracking human samples, entering clinical trial data, and working in accordance with nationally agreed standards.
You will ideally have experience of working in an office environment, the ability to prioritise work tasks, and have excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job To support experienced teams running clinical trials.To assist the clinical trial teams by providing general administrative support (meeting minutes, post, filing, printing).To manage trial data/samples by receiving, tracking, checking, generating queries and transferring data onto computer databases.The CCTC is hosted by Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust, which includes Addenbrooke's Hospital and is part of the Cambridge Cancer Centre, a partnership between Cancer Research UK, CUH, and the University of Cambridge.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to A level or NVQ level 3 Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent.
Experience Essential Good experience of managing general administrative tasks in a busy environment.
Experience of data collection and using databases.
Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks.
Working within guidelines and deadlines.
Experience of using own initiative and working independently.
Desirable Experience of data collection within a scientific or medical environment.
Experience of using clinical trials database.
Familiarity with medical records or experience working in clinical trials.
Experience of audit.
Experience of source data verification.
Knowledge Essential Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Understanding of confidentiality and data protection Awareness of Good Clinical Practice and the EU clinical trials directive Desirable Knowledge of Medical Terminology GCP training certificate Skills Essential Ability to work in a team Good communication skills including telephone, email, face to face Willing to take on/learn new skills Good attention to detail and proven accuracy Ability to adapt to change Ability to work under pressure Ability to store and safeguard confidential documents.
Desirable Ability to extract, analyse and interpret clinical information for trials/research purposes.
