Job summary We are looking for a Clinical Team Manager that is committed, innovative, and has the vision and leadership skills to lead our Southport CORE24 service.You will lead a multidisciplinary team working to ensure that Southport General Hospital is supported in the effective assessment and treatment of service users with mental health issues.
This will include providing responsive, emergency assessments within the A&E Department as well as mental health liaison to the wards.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about urgent mental health care, with a desire to continually improve what we do.
Main duties of the job In this position you will play a key role in leadership and continued development of the service, working closely with the leadership team as well as developing relationships with key figures from the acute role will include:Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathwaysWork in a professional and collaborative manner with the multi-disciplinary team.Participate and promote positive intra-agency working.Support the formulation and implementation of clinical and operational practices and procedures.Participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of new staffAssist in the management and coordination of all services delivered to the service userEnsure effective processes of communication are established, maintained and regularly evaluated within designated teamProvide performance information, analysing to ensure patients are receiving timely access to services About us Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than million people across our region and are also commissioned for services that cover the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services.

Job description Job responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathways, including appropriate service user referrals and models of care.Participate in case supervision to monitor clinical standards of service user care and documentation.Participate in regular clinical supervision as per Trust policy.Ensure the clinical environment is conducive to promote service users health, safety and well being, thereby preserving and respecting each service users personal dignity, privacy, religious and cultural beliefs.Ensure record keeping in accordance with professional and Trust standards.Work in a professional and collaborative manner with the multi-disciplinary team.Participate and promote positive intra-agency working.Participate in the referral process, including the assessment of patients in accordance with the agreed care pathway and the completion of quality reports, where appropriate.Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision and act as care co-ordinator, as required.Participate and assist in setting standards of service user care based on sound research findings.2) MANAGERIALDeputise for the Operational Manager, as required.Undertake delegated responsibilities as agreed with Operational Manager.Support the formulation and implementation of clinical and operational practices and procedures, as appropriate.Participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of new staffParticipate the teams emergency self-harm rota requirement based on service needsAssist in the management and coordination of all services delivered to the service user within the clinical.Support the implementation, monitoring and updating of an operational policy and philosophy for the clinical areaEnsure the principles of clinical governance are incorporated in service delivery in maintaining a high quality service based on agreed clinical standardsEnsure that service users are cared for within the confines of their respective Mental Health Act status and adhere to the requirements of the MHA 1983 and the corresponding Code of Practice.
This may include liaison with the home office for restricted service usersEnsure adherence and implementation of Effective Care CoordinationEnsure that Trust policies and procedures are adhered toAssist in the development of local protocols to ensure a high standard of service delivery is achieved and maintainedSupport the process of staff participation in the formulation of new ideas/suggestions to improve service user care and service deliveryProvide effective leadership within the designated teamProvide statistical information as requiredAssist in the maintenance and updating of the teams equipment inventories and service schedules.
Ensure regular servicing, maintenance, repair or replacement, as required, adhering to Health & Safety, COSHH and Medical Devised Agency regulationsEnsure effective processes of communication are established, maintained and regularly evaluated within designated teamAssist in the investigation of complaints and incidents at team level in accordance with Trust policyParticipate in Serious Untoward Incident investigations/reviews, as requiredCoordinate utilities, equipment and services and report/refer issues to respective managers, where necessaryProvide relevant staff with the necessary management supervision regarding the coordination and delegation of duties to ensure a comprehensive and consistent delivery of care is maintainedEnsure that the practice of the clinical area adheres to the Trusts policies and proceduresParticipate in managerial supervisionAppropriate participation in managing performance of staff, as requiredAppropriate participation in managing attendance of staff, as required Person Specification Skills Essential Effective leadership qualities and management styles Ability to utilise assessment skills and tools effectively Ability to communicate in a variety of settings Ability to formulate relevant reports Delegation and coordination Clinical management supervision Ability to work to prioritise and work to deadlines Mentorship skills and record keeping Flexible approach/creative thinking IT skills Ability to travel in the course of performing duties.
