Job summary We are looking for individuals who have a flexible approachto working, those who are caring, kind and compassionate, and happy to work aspart of a large but inclusive team within the Ultrasound Departments of The MidYorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust includes Pontefract,Pinderfields (Wakefield) and Dewsbury Hospitals, the newly opened WakefieldCommunity Diagnostic centre (CDC) and from 6 GP practises in the Community.
You will be expected to work across the threehospital sites.Clinical Support Workers (CSW) undertake a variety of roleswhich include administrative and patient care duties, working closely withsonographers in the clinical setting.
A reasonable standard of secondary education and basiccomputer skills are essential.If you are enthusiastic, caring and enjoy working in a busyclinical environment this may be the opportunity for you.Patterns of work are daytime shifts with a requirement towork between 7:30am and 6:00pm.

Job description Job responsibilities To assist the Radiologists, Sonographers, and other staff in providing a comprehensive efficient service.
The post holder will ensure that patient documentation is administered efficiently using the Radiology Information System and the eCaMIS PAS system.
In relation to patient care the post holder will ensure that every effort is made to maintain patient safety and wellbeing, adhering to moving and handling policies to ensure that patients come to no harm.
Booking in/attending patients on the Radiology information system, performing ID checks to comply with policy.
The post holder will ensure that patients are appropriately dressed for their procedure, assisting the patient in dressing and undressing as required, escort the patient in and out of the examination room and help position the patient for their examination as appropriate.
The post holder will prepare the room for the patients examination and prepare and administer to patients oral preparation, under guidance of the Sonographers.
Chaperone patients when required.
Monitor patients in the waiting areas and respond to their needs if a patient requires further assistance.
The post holder will undertake general observation of patients and report any concerns to the Sonographers or medical staff.
The post holder will adhere to control of infection policies in support of patients with known infection, paying attention to personal protection ( use of appropriate PPE).
The post holder will ensure that the environment and equipment is clean and fit for purpose to reduce the incidence of hospital acquired infection.
The post holder may be required to undergo training for aseptic non-touch technique (ANTT).
The post holder will be required to become competent in using the CARPS web logger to arrange portering tasks.

Able to fulfil all physical aspects of the role including manoeuvring trolleys and beds, ability to assist frail and ill patients.
Awareness of own limitations.

Desirable Ability to work under moderate pressure.
Adaptable to changing environment.
Qualifications Essential A reasonable standard of education to include CSE or GCSE in English Language and Maths or equivalent/experience.
Desirable NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in related subject.
IT skills qualifications.
Experience Essential Experience of good customer or patient care.
Basic Computer skills.
Desirable Previous experience in an administrative role.
Experience of working within a related area Health/Social Care Setting.
A willingness to learn NHS computer software systems.
Experience of working with confidential material.
