Job summary The post holder will support the team within the clinical area by providing a host of clinical duties including preparing necessary clinic documentation and carrying out observations and assigned tasks such as phlebotomy for patients attending planned Pre-Operative Assessment clinics.
They will assist with the pre-operative assessment screening and Optimisation service as patients are reviewed when they have been listed for surgery.
Main duties of the job Assist with the reception and care of patients, relatives and visitors to the department.
Prepare pre-operative assessment documents and help keep medical notes in order maintain high standards of record keeping ensuring entries are accurate and legible To assist nursing and clerical staff in Pre-Operative Assessment.
To carry out tasks and core patient observations, ECG & venepuncture (following the appropriate training and having being deemed competent).
To work as an integrated member of the team, assisting with nursing procedures according to agreed policies.
To achieve a high standard of patient care.
