Tasks to include male catheterisation, ECG, IV administration, Cannulation.

Ensure that risk assessments are complete as per Trust policy for manual Handling, health & safety and other relevant areas of concern.
Ensure that equipment and the environment supports the delivery of high standards of care at all times.
To participate and prioritise developments within the Service as part of the Strategic/ business planning.
To assist with the management of ward resources in an efficient and effective manner.
Ensure information on the ward information system is correct and updated regularly.
Undertake staff appraisals and create a learning environment which facilitates learning and professional development.

Person Specification Experience and Knowledge Essential Professional clinical experience in working within surgical environment A knowledgeable clinician with the ability to apply evidence based practice A sound knowledge of professional policies and procedures Knowledge of clinical governance and a commitment to clinical supervision and staff development Desirable Ability to successfully manage people Experience in participating in service improvement Knowledge and experience in Elective surgery Enhanced care Qualification and Professional Training Essential First level degree or willingness to undertaken Current Professional Registration working as a band 5 or above for minimum of 2 years Evidence of continuous professional development To have the skills and knowledge to undertake supervision and assessing of staff and patients within scope of practice or willingness to develop Skills & Abilities Essential IT Skills Patient Focused Excellent communication skills Able to prioritise and meet deadlines effectively Good management of own and others time Able to use initiative and make decisions Analyse problems and implements effective and appropriate solutions Cannulation/ Venepuncture/ Male Catherterisation Personal Qualities Essential Professional at all times Motivated and able to motivate others Calm and objective Approachable with good interpersonal skill Ability to deal with difficult/sensitive situations Have a confident approach and the ability to inspire confidence Other Essential Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the EXCEL values
