Job summary To provide a specialist psychological assessment and therapy service.
To offer advice and consultation on clients psychological care to colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Psicons policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job Assessment and treatment of children and young people and/or families with mental health conditions and/or neurodevelopmental conditions.
Carry out therapeutic work: With children, young people and families using a variety of therapeutic models that might include CBT, Systemic and Psycho-dynamic.
With adoptive families/families subject to special guardianship orders, which includes therapeutic parenting work, individual therapy, and family work.
Act as a core member of the Child, Young People and Family Service at Psicon.
Contribute as a clinician, to the smooth running of services including the general business of Psicon.
Consider service development opportunities with the management team at Psicon.
About us Psicon is aspecialist neurodevelopmental service working both privately and with variousNHS trusts to provide autism and ADHD assessments.
We are an independentorganisation, but most of our work is for the NHS, whom we are proud tosupport.
Assessments are carried out by our team of associate clinicians from arange of clinical backgrounds, in satellite clinics across the country andremotely.

Job description Job responsibilities Direct Psychological Interventions To undertake psychological assessment and formulation of children and young people and/or families.
To offer psychological treatment to children and young people as well as their families where appropriate.
To support and treat clients with complex presentation including dual diagnosis (for example mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions).
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.Indirect Clinical Work Able to consider information from assessment and formulate treatment plans, prepare thorough clinical reports of the highest standard, and be able to communicate conclusions and recommendations after assessment to individuals, families, and other relevant parties if appropriate.
Offering indirect clinical work, consultation, training and psycho-education to relevant stakeholders ( social workers, support workers, teachers etc.).
Contribute to Child, Young People and Family Service team meetings.Supervision Attend regular clinical supervision.
Deliver supervision for junior staff where appropriate and as directed by the clinical lead.Training To complete mandatory training as required by the service.
To complete Child and Adult Safeguarding Training at Level 3.
To contribute to training initiatives (internal and external) at Psicon as required.
To develop a continued professional development plan with the clinical lead and managing director to further develop clinical knowledge and skills.
To train in ADOS2 clinical observation schedule and the diagnostic assessment of autism.
To train in the diagnostic assessment of ADHD.
Person Specification Experience Essential General To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, and in consultation with the Director and the HR & operations manager.
To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in psychology across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive and reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of psychology and related disciplines.
To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice.
To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health.
