Job summary Acorns Children's Hospice are now looking for a Clinical Practice Educator to deliver training and education to clinical teams in our three hospicesAbout the RoleAt Acorns Childrens Hospice we offer specialist palliative care and support for children and their families across the West Midlands.
We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home.
Our aim at Acorns is to help families feel equipped to cope at every stage of their childs life with dedicated teams offering psychological, emotional and practical support.
Main duties of the job As a Clinical Practice Educator, you will: Support the development and delivery of an education plan that support Acorns strategy and workforce development Ensure that compliance with all mandatory training is achieved Act as the Resuscitation Officer for Acorns Supported Registered Manager in the onboarding of new starters Develop, deliver and evaluate digital and face-to-face learning packagesAbout You Educated to degree level or equivalent (or working towards) Registered healthcare professional Experience of creating, delivering and evaluating clinical training Excellent communication, presentation and written skills About us What We OfferUp to £41,500 per annum per weekEmployee discounts from leading retailersEmployee gym discount schemeBike-to-Work schemeGenerous contribution to group personal pension plan or continuation of current NHS pension schemeNHS pension scheme life assurance or Acorns group life assurance schemeInterviews are scheduled to be held on 18 DecemberYou need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.

Job description Job responsibilities MAIN DUTIES 1.Work with the Lead Practice Educator and DeputyDirector of Care- Quality Assurance to support the development and delivery ofan education plan that supports Acorns strategy and workforce developmentin order to meet the needs of children, familiesand individual team members.
2.Demonstrate commitment through support to RegisteredManagers to ensure that compliance with all mandatory trainingis achieved.
3.Act as the Resuscitation officerfor Acorns developing and maintaining own skillsas required for this role.
4.Support RegisteredManagers in the onboarding of new starters(permanent and bank).
5.Work with clinical teams across Acorns andexternally to develop and deliver educationalopportunities to ensurecompetence and confidence in complex care.
6.Work with clinicalteams to ensureclinical competency and skills development to support delivery of evidence-based care.
This includes the ongoingdevelopment and review of the Acornsclinical competency process.
7.As part of the Care Education Team,demonstrate our caringvalue by ensuring a responsive and flexible service thatreacts to the changing needs of individual children and families and reflectsthe learning needs of staff and volunteers 8.
As part of the Care Education Team develop/ identify, deliver, and evaluate digital and face to facelearning packages to meetidentified learning needs including bespoke clinical skills including trainthe trainer sessions.
9.Working with the Care educationteam, use the Acorns digitallearning platform to monitorand analyse training and report on compliance.
10.
Act as a centralpoint of contact to universities to enable student placements across Care Services and support the teams to mentor studentsupdating and cascadingrelevant information and resources as required.

Support the setting up of honorarycontract arrangements and supportindividuals on placement at Acorns or externally 12.
Be courageous and act as a positive role model demonstrating professionalism.

Work collaboratively and attend/lead appropriate internal and externalmeetings and workgroups as agreed.14.

As a trusted colleague, support the provision and facilitation of clinicalsupervision and reflective learning across all sites.17.

Be curiousand use researchand professional networking to advise on changes in clinical practice andcontribute to policy development.19.
Maintain knowledgeand awareness of safeguarding and ensure appropriate steps are facilitated througheffective multi-professional agencies.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent or working towards Registered Healthcare Professional Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Desirable EPALS instructor Recognised qualification in Education /teaching Experience Essential Experience of creating delivering monitoring training and evaluating clinical training activities using blended learning Experience of supporting the change process Knowledge of Safeguarding children Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team in a healthcare setting Desirable Experience of liaising with Colleges/Universities Advanced respiratory skills Experience of Paediatric Palliative Care Experience of delivering care to for children with complex needs and disabilities Experience of working with children with complex care needs
