Job summary South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS FoundationTrust seeks to recruit multiple pharmacists to our team of Band 6 rotationalpharmacists undertaking a structured foundation training programme thatincludes the opportunity for educational and financial support for the clinicaldiploma, advanced clinical skills and formal prescribing qualification.
ThePharmacy service and its team are fully-embedded into the wider clinicalspecialities and this is reflected in the fact that we operate a seven-dayclinical service across the two sites.
Our modern service benefits from fullelectronic prescribing, decision support and automated dispensaries in our maininpatient and outpatient sites.
Main duties of the job After a structured eight-week induction programmeyou will join the clinical teams on a rotational programme deliveringIntegrated Medicines Management at the bedside.
You will spend over 90% of yourtime outside of dispensaries on direct patient care which will include clinicalexperience in admission and discharge management, consultant ward rounds,medicines information and chemotherapy and TPN.
You will gain experience ofcaring for patients in general medicine, general surgery, surgical specialties,elderly care and emergency medicine.You will be a registered Pharmacist with apositive and flexible approach, seeking clinically-focussed practice and havethe desire to develop clinical decision making and prescribing skills.Trainee pharmacists are welcome to apply,including anyone who wishes to transfer into the Hospital sector.Hours per week: hours per week, including weekend and evening working.
When working a weekend,employees are allocated two rest days the following week.
