The post is based at our Northampton site (NN1 5DG) providingclinical pharmacy input to in-patient and community mental health services.
As part of the Pharmacy Team you will be providedwith the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of clinical pharmacyservices to a variety of mental health specialities; Adult and CAMHS LowSecure, Adult Medium Secure, Learning Disability and Autism Services,Neuropsychiatry Services.
Main duties of the job The main duties will include providing a patientfocussed clinical pharmacy service in an inpatient setting.
You will beexpected to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care to patients as a partof the wider multi-disciplinary team, participate in consultant ward reviews,undertake clinical audit (national and local level), and be actively involvedin providing medicines education to patients, carers and staff.
You will have the opportunity to develop policiesand guidelines and will be supported by the senior pharmacists and pharmacytechnicians within the team.
You should be able to work on your own initiativeas well as within a wider team.You should have a Master's Degree in Pharmacy orequivalent, and have current registration with the General PharmaceuticalCouncil.
You should be able to demonstrate evidence of postgraduate training,or equivalent experience, and continuing professional development in clinicalpharmacy practice.
Although experience in psychiatry would bedesirable, applicants that have postgraduate qualifications in clinicalpharmacy or primary care would be of interest.There is an opportunity to further develop with courses such asPsychiatry 1 and 2 offered by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy, APostgraduate Certificate and Diploma in Psychiatric Therapeutics from AstonUniversity, and a Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification (subject to successfulcompletion of the probation period).
