NHS Ayrshire & Arran benefits from automated dispensing and electronic prescribing (HEPMA and CEPAS).
You will be responsible for delivering a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients accessing care within Emergency Care.
Permanent base will be at University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC) with some cross-site working at University Hospital Ayr (UHA).
The Emergency Departments (ED) & Combined Assessment Units (CAU) utilises multiple ambulatory care pathways, rapid assessment, early senior clinical decision-making & care involving the multidisciplinary team therefore the ideal candidate shall need to possess the relevant hospital experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.What you will do:Provide highly specialised advice in all pharmaceutical matters relating to the care of individual patients.
Provide a specialist clinical pharmacy service to the designated clinical specialityContribute to the wider development and improvement of pharmaceutical services to patients receiving clinical pharmaceutical care within Ayrshire and Arran NHS Health BoardAccountable for the safe and cost effective use of medicines within their areas of practice.For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job descriptionKnowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:You are required to be proficient in, have knowledge of, or undertake training in the following:-Masters of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent.Scottish Hospital Pharmacy Vocational Training Scheme (or demonstrable evidence of clinical knowledge equivalent to that level)Practice Certificate in Pharmacist Prescribing (will be supported to complete this if not held)Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (including evidence of continuing professional development) Please note: You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC)Experience:Relevant pharmacy experience.Good interpersonal skills.Advanced arithmetic skills.
Full driving Licence.Ability to work autonomously.Ability to work effectively as part of a team, in a pharmacy and multi-disciplinary environment.Knowledge:Required to demonstrate a highly specialised level of clinical pharmacy knowledge, skills, clinical reasoning and judgement.Computer literate with knowledge of information technology.
