The RoleUniversity Hospital Monklands is looking for a dynamic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team!
This post will primarily work within our pharmacy aseptic unit to provide a safe and effective service.
This will include the supply of biological medicines, centralised intravenous additive service (CIVAS), systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).It is an exciting time at University Hospital Monklands with recent introduction of Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) and developing future plans for the replacement of the current hospital site, including new aseptic facilities.
Also, there are significant changes underway within the initial education and training of pharmacy professionals and will shape future roles.

Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)Relevant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy Postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice e.g.
Stage II Scottish Vocational Training / 1st year clinical diploma Demonstrable experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to a defined patient group.
Experience in patient information/educationExperience in supervising staff Ability to effectively monitor patients therapeutic regimens in order to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicityClinical pharmacy / care planningGood verbal and written communication skillsSelf motivationAbility to work effectively as part of a team, in a pharmacy and multi-disciplinary environmentProven project / practice research/ audit skillsParticipation in weekend and public holiday workingParticipation in pharmacy emergency duty service (if appropriate)Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department.
