The service delivers NHSfunded care to Sussex residents.
The Clinical Operations Manager willsupport the Deputy Head of AACC on the delivery of an efficient, effective andhigh quality professional and co-ordinated Continuing Healthcare commissioningfunction capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirementsensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

As a member of staff you will be encouraged and supported to implementnew ways of working that will help us achieve that goal.Working for us - Sussex Health and Care ( Job description Job responsibilities The Clinical Operations Manager will support the Head of All Age Continuing Healthcare (AACC) on delivery of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and co-ordinated Continuing Healthcare commissioning function capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.The post holder will act as a senior operational manager within the All-Age Continuing Healthcare team, and work to requirements and standards of CHC as defined in the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare (revised 2022)The post holder will support the Deputy Head of AACC to ensure that the CHC work streams and programmes are planned and carried out effectively, in a timely way and achieve agreed targets and trajectories.The post holder will be responsible for reviewing and producing a range of policies and standard operating procedures and embedding their operation into practice to assure excellence in financial management of the CHC budget and the quality and safety of the commissioning of Continuing Healthcare.The post holder will lead, develop and co-ordinate a modern, effective, customer focused, business and administrative support service that underpins CHC eligibility assessment/review and commissioning processes.The post holder supports the Head of AACC in developing and managing CHC Quality Improvement and Productivity Programmes (QIPP) and monitoring their delivery.The post holder is required to lead and provide expert input to service improvement projects to ensure that the service is sensitive, responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the clients and balanced against the need to remain cost effective in a changing commissioning environment.The job description and person specification may be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the changing needs of the Department and the Organisation.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse First level degree or equivalent educational achievement or equivalent experience Evidence of continuing professional development associated with NHS Continuing Healthcare.
Leadership qualification Expert working knowledge of NHS Continuing Healthcare guidance and policy Knowledge of NHS Continuing Healthcare assessment process Knowledge of risk management policies and procedures Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality in the handling of data and person sensitive information Ability to identify and support individual staff and team development.
Resilient in holding self and others to account in the delivery of agreed priorities Ability to lead and influence strategy and delivery.
Expert knowledge of root cause analysis theory and application Knowledge of policy and legislation in relation to CHC and PHBs Extensive Knowledge of safeguarding framework for both adults and children Extensive Knowledge of legislation that impacts on patients receiving NHS CHC ie MHA, LPS, DoLS Significant demonstrable experience of working within Continuing Healthcare sector, including Knowledge of current NHS policies, guidance and legislation in relation to NHS CHC and Funded Nursing Care.
Extensive experience of working with adults in a variety of settings including case management and /or assessment responsibility.
Experience of implementing evidence-based practice/guideline development Experience of coaching/ supporting/ mentoring less experienced staff Experience of clinical standard setting and audit, and leadership in audit cycles Negotiation with and working to achieve outcomes with professionals from other organisations Evidence of ability to set and monitor high standards of care Ability to understand key elements of and lead on change management in relation to clinical practice Evidence of ability to set and monitor high standards of care Interagency working Experience of clinical standard setting and audit, and leadership in audit cycles Teaching/training /presentation skill Negotiation with and working to achieve outcomes with professionals from other organisations Evidence of ability to set and monitor high standards of care Ability to understand key elements of and lead on change management in relation to clinical practice Skills & Capabilities Essential Ability to analyse and interpret national policy and implement new systems as necessary for the post To demonstrate highly specialist clinical decision making skills Clear understanding of clinical supervision and reflective practice Ability to motivate and inspire others Excellent communication both verbal and written Ability to work flexibly and co-operatively Ability to effectively manage conflict Ability to prioritise workload and delegate tasks appropriately Ability to develop own and others practices Computer literate Ability to motivate staff to participate in audit and research Ability to lead a team
