We are seeking applications from a number of different professional disciplines including psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and nursing.The Autism Assessment Pathway (AAP) accepts referrals for young people living in Bedfordshire and Luton who are over the age of 13.Post-holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team.
As a band 8a Senior clinician, the post-holder will hold full professional autonomy and self-management.The Autism Assessment Pathway is held within the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team (NDT) who offer assessments and creative interventions to children and young people who have Autism and/or intellectual disabilities.
The NDT is part of Bedfordshire CAMHS which is a large, dynamic and successful CAMHs service comprising of 3 emotional and behavioural teams, a LAC team, a CAMHs schools team, a parent-infant psychotherapy team, a paediatric team, a GP team, an adolescent mental health team, a crisis team and an eating disorders service.
We also have embedded workers in Early Help, CDC and social care.
We offer regular opportunities for staff to undertake individualised CPD, and we provide opportunities for staff wishing to 'act up' into more senior roles on occasion.

ELFT offers attractive recruitment packages and we are committed to offering our staff the opportunity to develop their skills.Please see attached JD & PS for full details Person Specification Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential A qualification and professional registration in Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, Nursing, Social Worker, Speech and language Therapy, Occupational Therapy Clinical Psychology: Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) Registration with HPC Family Therapy: Qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Nursing or Counselling Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT agreed equivalent UKCP Registered Child Psychotherapy: Honours degree.
Postgraduate Diploma/MA in Psychoanalytical Observational Studies or recognised equivalent.
Masters in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy: Child and Adolescent.
Registered member of ACP Nursing: Mental Health Nurse Level 1 (RN3, RNMH, RNLD in sub part 1 of the NMC Register) ENB 998 or equivalent Social Worker Registered with Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) Speech and language Therapy: Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent Registered Member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists Occupational Therapy: Occupational Therapy Degree or equivalent Registration with Health Professions Council Evidence of successful completion of post graduate courses relevant to Autism Desirable Relevant post-graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
Substance mis-use or equivalent ( ENB 603) Evidence of successful completion of post graduate diagnostic training such as ADOS, 3DI Experience Essential Significant post graduate clinical experience in paediatrics Relevant experience at post graduate level, including in depth knowledge and experience of working with children with autism.
Experience of providing autism diagnostic assessments and differential diagnosis Experience of working in an autism diagnostic pathway Experience of line management and supervision of other staff Experience of advising/providing second opinions Experience of leading service improvement work Experience of delivering training for a variety of stakeholders Desirable Experience of delivering community based services.
Experience of leading a service area Knowledge and Skills Essential Excellent interpersonal skills - including observation, listening and empathy skills Effective communication skills both oral and in writing to a wide range of stakeholders Ability to work independently as appropriate Well developed concentration skills Skills in undertaking autism diagnostic assessments within an MDT context.

Ability to operationally lead the AAP service and assume leadership responsibilities within specialist multi-disciplinary team Well established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group In-depth knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to the specialist client group) eg Education Code of Practice, Clinical Guidelines, Communicating Quality In depth knowledge of the principles of clinical governance /audit Risk assessment, Clinical guidelines Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group) Senco, Educational Psychologist, Advisory Teacher, gastroenterologist Ability to work in partnership with other professionals and other agencies Ability to maintain relevant standards of record keeping Excellent presentation skills, written and verbal including ability to write clear and concise reports.
Working knowledge of relevant information technology Advanced negotiation and problem solving skills Advanced knowledge of evidence-based/best practice with the clinical specialism.
The ability to lead service improvement and quality assurance activities including projects, audits, working parties, etc .
Ability to develop data systems, collate, analyse and monitor performance data for the service.
