Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical nurse specialist .
We would consider a band 5/6 Registered General nurse who has post qualification experience of at least two years.
The successful post holder will have a genuine and enthusiastic interest in respiratory Medicine.
The consideration of facilitating a development role depending upon knowledge and experience would be considered.
The successful candidate should be willing and motivated to undertake further training to progress to band 7.
Experience in managing patients with respiratory conditions would be an advantage but training will be given.
As a highly motivated Registered General Nurse who has a passion for delivering safe, high quality care to patients in the acute /chronic setting you will gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in Respiratory Medicine.
After a successful induction period you will be required to advise colleges and patients in regard to long term conditions and in addition you will undertake all aspects of the role using advanced clinical assessment skills and decision making with the support of Respiratory evidenced based knowledge.
Main duties of the job Main duties of the job include, 1 The Respiratory CNS nurse will be skilled in assessing, planning , and implementing treatments for chronic conditions for inpatient and outpatient status.
2 Inpatient assessment for long term oxygen therapy.
3 Early supported discharge service for all patients admitted with a chronic respiratory disease.
4 Respiratory Nurse led OPD clinics depending upon experience and knowledge.
5 Respiratory Nurse led clinics for patients with TB depending upon experience and knowledge.
6 To work collaboratively with all members of the NLAG Respiratory team with mutuality.
