Job summary We are looking for a mental health nurse, with specialist Eating Disorder experience to cover a fixed term maternity leave vacancy, within the Adult Community Eating Disorder (ACED) team in Oxfordshire.
The team has been through significant transformation, including a skill mix review, significant recruitment and has developed clear internal pathways for the different eating disorder diagnosis and clarity of interventions delivered.
The team continues to work with colleagues from CAMHS, Adult Services, Older Adult and Primary care to develop and embed the ED pathway.
The community team is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team including Clinical Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nursing staff, Dietitian, Social Worker, Assistant Psychologists, Community Support Workers, and team Administrators.

Main duties of the job The role of clinical nurse specialist is to provide comprehensive care to individuals with eating disorders, as well as taking a leadership role within the multi-disciplinary team to embed nursing as a key element of the treatment pathway.
The post holder will receive, and be required to offer, supervision to other team members and act as Practice Assessor / Supervisor to nursing students and trainees.
Clinical nurse specialists play an important role in educating patients, families, and other healthcare providers on the complex nature of eating disorders.
They are trained to carry out specialist assessments and provide evidenced based treatments to help people overcome their disorder.
They work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address not only the physical symptoms but also the psychological and emotional aspects of the disorder.
We offer a range of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders and deliver these within the community.
There are opportunities for further training in theevidence-based treatments, including regular CBT-E (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) supervision and the service is developing the FREED initiative.
The serviceoperates 5 days per week Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

This involves exploring individuals risk of harm to themselves and/or others and may involve working with challenging, hostile and distressing behaviour.Taking responsibility for ensuring the communication of Recovery Care Plans, Outcome measures, risk management plans and other important information to relevant people, professionals and agencies as appropriate.
Encouraging individuals to take the lead in sharing information wherever possible.Participation in the organisation and operational management of the Adult Eating Disorder (AED) community Service as agreed with the Clinical Team Manager.Keeping accurate and contemporary clinical notes, reports and workload data.Implementing and promoting local and national legislation, incorporating good practice guidelines into clinical work.Managing and prioritising clinical time and case load effectively.Ensure effective communication with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to assist standards of clinical services.
