Clinical Lead Physiotherapist - Critical Care & Surgery

Job summary Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Critical Care & General Surgery.
The post is based in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthenshire.The post holder will need to be highly specialised in Critical Care & General Surgery, with an ability to train and develop their team.
They will also be supporting the delivery of rehabilitation across the surgical wards & outreaching to other wards to post Critical Care patients.
They will also lead on the delivery of the respiratory on-call service.Patients will also include acute respiratory deterioration in Front of House areas, Major Trauma Network patients & Neurological conditions.
Whilst the main focus of the role will be based in Glangwili Hospital, there is an expectation for a flexible approach to work as required.They will need strong leadership, organisational and team management skills, with a passion for their patients and the desire for service improvement and transformation following national guidelines.
They will be aware of the evidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity.
They will be an active member of the clinical leadership group within Hywel Dda University Health Board.The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.
Main duties of the job As a versatile postgraduate, you will need to have a strong clinical grounding in Critical Care & general surgery rehabilitation.Plus the treatment of acute medical conditions, chronic respiratory conditions, older people rehabilitation, expertise in frailty syndrome, neurological conditions, cardio respiratory conditions, MSK problems and a good understanding of community rehabilitation services / setting.
You will have extensive experience and expertise in the principles, standards and delivery of inpatient rehabilitation with demonstrable knowledge of managing a complex patient caseload.You will need the ability and skills to work autonomously and alongside members of the team.The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership, specialist expertise, supervision and education to Physiotherapy staff, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants/Frailty Support Workers, and students.We are looking for an individual with the interpersonal skills to network with acute and community colleagues to co-ordinate a responsive, seamless service across pathways and sectors.
You will have organisational ability and a commitment to service development by developing the evidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity.
As appropriate, there will be an expectation to deputise for senior management.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will oversee the physiotherapy activity across critical care and surgical wards, promoting the delivery of rehabilitation and patient flow.

Significant accredited post graduate specialist physiotherapy courses within relevant clinical area Advanced training to Masters level training.
