Job summary Clinical Fellow in Critical Care FY2/CT1+ equivalentDay to day care of patients on the Critical Care units.
Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system (48 hours per week).Applications are invited for appointment to Clinical Fellow posts FY2+/CT1+ for a Fixed Term period from February 2025 for 6 months.The posts are mostly based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton with short periods at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath (approximately one week in 16).
Main duties of the job This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in critical care to build up some clinical experience in this area, to consolidate prior intensive care experience (including those wishing to apply for ICM via training or CESR route), and to build up CVs.
It is an excellent opportunity for training and career progression.
Prior critical care experience is not a prerequisite.

Job description Job responsibilities The post consists of 48 hours per week when working full time (45 clinical and additional 3 hours of educational development time).
Additional time can be allocated from clinical hours to support clinical fellow projects in education and SIM, research, leadership, and any other projects depending on personal interests.
We also welcome applications from those looking for less than full time posts.
Person Specification Experience and Qualifications Essential Basic Medical Degree Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent Desirable Additional post-graduate qualification in critical care including ECHO/USS qualifications Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Paediatric Life Support or equivalent FRCA Primary /MRCP/MRCS/MCEM A B C or appropriate specialist qualification Clinical Skills and Experience Essential Must have completed Foundation Training in the UK or equivalency including CREST Previous acute medicine/ED/ICU/anaesthetics experience but only at SHO level (this post is not suitable for those with more than 1 year of previous critical care experience) Desirable Desire to work in the Critical Care for future career Organisation and Planning Essential Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints Demonstrates an ability to organise and prioritise Desirable Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended
