Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
As an integral part of the education team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, ensuring their individual learning needs are met Assist in creating and implementing personalized learning plans for students with diverse learning requirements Support students in managing challenging behaviours and develop strategies to promote positive behaviour Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the well-being and academic success of all students Qualifications Proven experience in providing 1:1 support, particularly with students with SEN and SEMH needs Strong understanding of various learning needs and behavioural challenges in an educational setting Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and external partners Relevant certifications or qualifications in SEN support or related fields is desirable Day-to-Day Working closely with individual students to provide tailored support according to their specific needs Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies and interventions Collaborating with teachers to create and adapt materials to support individual learning plans Communicating regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and well-being Contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment through active participation in school-wide initiatives and events
