A KS2 Learning Support Assistant position is available at a fantastic Special School in Ware, East Hertfordshire!
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in supporting students with Autism, Speech & Language Needs, and Communication Difficulties at Key Stage 2 level.
The school has approximately 100 pupils aged 4-11 years, all of whom have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
Responsibilities Provide support and assistance to Key Stage 2 students with SEN, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
Collaborate with teachers and the school's SENCO to develop and implement personalized education plans for students.
Encourage and facilitate inclusive classroom participation and engagement for all students.
Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence in students with SEN.
Ensure to always be a source of social/emotional support for pupils and contribute to a welcoming school environment.
Requirements Must have a current enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the update service) or be willing to pay for a new one (£52.20).
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in Key Stage 2.
Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with Autism, Speech & Language Needs, and Communication Difficulties.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
Confidence and experience in utilising behaviour management techniques.
Relevant qualifications and training in SEN support and/or education would be advantageous.
Hours & Pay This is a full-time position, working hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only).This is a temporary to permanent position.
We offer a daily rate of £85-95 per day (paid weekly: £PAYE).A permanent contract is available once you have completed at least 12 academic weeks (and subject to excellent performance).
