The Role We're seeking Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to fill several full-time and part-time positions across Newport.
In these roles, successful candidates will work closely with students, teachers, and pastoral staff, providing essential support to students who may be struggling with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
The available positions are within secondary schools in the Newport and Cwmbran areas. You can choose a school local to you!
Details Start dates in January 2025 Full-time and part-time hours available Salary: £83.85–£100 per day Supporting pupils aged 11–16 at schools in Newport and Cwmbran Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering positive behaviour and emotional well-being Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and individual support plans Support teaching staff in creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Work pro-actively with students to build self-esteem, resilience, and positive relationships About You We're looking for someone who is: Passionate about working with young people and helping them succeed Calm, patient, and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills Resilient and able to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy A team player who can work collaboratively with staff and external agencies Ideally experienced in working with young people with behavioural or additional learning needs (though training can be provided) Essential Qualifications and Skills GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Teaching Personnel will assist you with a DBS application and EWC registration, both required to work within a school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
