Claims Handler / Trainee Claims Handler

Lead Claims Handler (FTC - 6 months) ASSIGNMENT NO: 28291
To provide a claims handling service to members who are the subject of a clinical negligence claim
Responsible for handling own caseload in accordance with Claims Handling Protocol
Provide support for other members of the claims handling team & contribute to a positive team culture
To investigate, quantify and negotiate claims
Provide assistance & guidance to members during the claims handling process
Maintain a good working knowledge of current technical & legal developments relevant to the work of the Claims Handling department
Participate in educational activities & keep a record of training/educational activities
Claims handling experience in clinical negligence or other relevant business area such as personal injury, general insurance or legal environment
Adherence to the Claims Handling Protocol
Key Outputs/Performance Measures:
Actively managing claims & maintaining case files in good order
Ensuring case files are adequately reserved & reviewed in accordance with Claims Handling Protocol
Compliance with Complaints Procedure
Contribute to project work within Claims Handling or other departments including writing at least one article per year for the Journal
