A CPCS Engineer is currently required to join a Civil Engineering Contractor.
The role will initially be based from Cornwall with travel across Devon.
The role is full time and permanent, offering a broad range of benefits and a competitive salary.
Currently they support several of the Major civil engineering and construction contractors providing engineering pre construction support for housing developers, schools, hospitals, utility upgrades for local authorities and major highway schemes.
Due to the nature of their business, regular travel within the south west is required but a company vehicle will be provided.
It is also essential that you have a valid CPCS qualification.
You will have experience of Civil Engineering with either a SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
We are searching for an individual who hold excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be experienced in growing mentoring and leading teams.
A Degree in engineering / NVQ 4 or 5 / HNC or HND will be highly regarded as well as a CSCS card.
Other duties may include: Checking all personnel on site including visitors hold a current CITB issued CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and/or CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) card or are registered with CSCS.
Ensuring that all site staff and subcontractors wear a hard hat, high visibility vest or jacket, high visibility trousers, protective footwear, protective gloves and protective eyewear on site Overseeing quality control Monitoring health and safety Keeping a site diary Resolving technical problems Working in an office and on a construction site.
Requirements for the role: Appropriate CPCS Qualification Knowledge of plant / asset hire industry Knowledge of Health and Safety Management Extensive knowledge of the Earthmoving industry Experience working on a construction site NVQ Qualification in Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance (NVQ level 2/3) or equivalent Experience in conducting repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery Commercially aware of budgets and able to work within monthly budget In return you will be given a generous basic salary as well as the use of a company vehicle plus overtime is readily available.
