The Opportunity EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project.
This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project.
As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E's integrated teams.
The Civil Building Lead will oversee the civil design for a designated building, working under the guidance of the Civil Team Lead.
In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring that their technical scope meets project standards for quality, timeline, and budget.

What you'll be doing The Civil Building Lead is a product-focused role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas.
As a Civil Building Lead for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, you'll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) design.
This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase.
This position involves receiving, analysing, and verifying the consistency of input data, performing technical verifications on design notes, models, and drawings, and overseeing the anchorage designs by equipment suppliers.
The role requires close collaboration with site-based engineering teams and subject matter experts to support seamless construction and coordination with civil designers and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of key project components.
In addition, the Civil Building Lead will assess and implement design modifications requested by various engineering teams, contribute to project and contract risk registers, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees.
You will support internal contract management teams in administering relevant contracts and proactively identify and report risks that could impact project timelines or costs within their scope.
Who you are You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations.
Have a solid understanding of EPR engineering processes and project engineering procedures, coupled with a demonstrated ability to set, achieve, and uphold high standards in safety and quality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders.
Excellent team management and people engagement skills are also critical.
A working knowledge of French, familiarity with the ETC-C design code, and experience with software like PDMS and TEKLA are desirable.
