About the job: Engineering UK is a unit within the newly created Engineering UK & CE area that supports the geography aligning the local structures to the CIB one taking into account the local regulations and requirements.
We are seeking to incorporate a senior professional to lead the Engineering UK team. The main responsibilities will be:
Management of Engineering teams for UK activity. Responsibility over the following areas on a local basis: Business Process Engineering, Project Solutions Development, Outsourcing controls, Technology Risk Control Assurance, and Infrastructure and Service and Cybersecurity. Responsible for the maintenance and service of work facilities in the LB, in line with local needs and regulations. Support business lines and their management, acting as a liaison with the middle/back office units in the Head office. Responsibility for the conceptualizing, designing, coordinating, planification, testing, and implementation of projects for specialized Financial Markets. Responsibility for the detection, mitigation, and control of technological risks affecting both the London office. Responsible for ensuring that the services outsourced comply with the internal and external requirements as well as monitoring the KPIs agreed at a contractual level. Responsible for the transformation and optimization of the operational processes with three main targets: improve customer experience, efficiency, and reduce operational risk. Responsibility for the correct functioning of the infrastructure and support activities that maintain the core business for BBVA London Office. Responsibility for cybersecurity and technological fraud prevention in BBVA London Office. Participate in LEC, Internal Control and Operational Risk, Cybersecurity and RAC committees and others as may be required. Regular and ad hoc reporting to UK Country Manager. Key oversight and coordination of branch contingency. Qualifications: Academic background in Engineering or Business Administration. Prior success in setting up new structures and proven experience in change management. More than 7 years of experience managing teams. Previous experience interacting with regulators. Language skills: English Speaker, desirable Spanish as a second language (not mandatory). Soft Skills: Well-organized, systematic, solution-oriented profile. Driven person who enjoys thinking big and outside the box. Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with senior executives and external parties. Ability to manage multiple and diverse projects. This is a certified position under the Senior manager regime (SMF 24) and subject to approval by the UK regulator.
