Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic andexperienced childrens nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team as a NurseSpecialist; working within a team of band 7 lead nurses, band 6 nursespecialists, a band 5 staff nurse, band 4 play specialists and administrativestaff, facilitating safe, high quality care and patient experience to thechildren and families who use our service.As well as delivering care in the childrens homes and schools, weprovide telephone and face to face clinics from 6 different sites at: UniversityHospital North Durham (UHND) DarlingtonMemorial Hospital (DMH) BishopAuckland General Hospital (BAGH) Chester leStreet Community Hospital (CLS) StanleyPrimary Care Centre (SPCC) Healthworks,EasingtonYour nominal base will be Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Main duties of the job The post holder will provide specialist assessment, advice,care and education to children and young people with bladder and bowel problemsand their families, holding an individual caseload, as well as providingsupport and supervision to junior staff.
Youll work as part of amultidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to continence.
Much of our work involves improving qualityof life and outcomes for children with SEND, so you'll be passionate aboutworking with children and families with SEND.You'll support us with ensuring that standards of care areset and delivered to a high standard and that these are regularly monitored andadapted appropriately in response to patient/carer feedback, audit findings andemerging evidence.
You will continually strive to improve thepatient experience within the CYP Bladder and Bowel Service, and throughregular monitoring, accurate data collection and audit, you'll support the LeadNurses with initiating improvements that will enhance the patient journey, ensuringservices are delivered in line with local and national strategy and evidencebased care.
