Our social work teams are committed to providing the best service possible and are supported by our ambitious culture.About the RoleOur Children & Families service works in a highly challenging, yet highly rewarding environment to manage child-in-need and child protection cases as well as cases in legal proceedings and looked after children.Working together with children and their families, we use restorative practice to achieve positive long-term and sustainable outcomes for children, young people and their families.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will have a smaller but more complex caseload, working alongside children and young people with a complexity of needs (including undertaking in depth assessments).
You will work closely with your Team Manager to provide support with the day-to-day team operations, where you will demonstrate professional leadership of the team through supervision and mentoring, whilst sharing your knowledge and experience to contribute to an efficient and effective service to children and families in Devon.About YouAdvocating for the children and young people of Devon, you will model social work practice that is of a high standard and in line with statutory obligations.
You will champion restorative practice and encourage a collaborative culture, where opportunities for reflection and learning are supported.You will deliver on the job training, coaching, and mentoring to students, unqualified staff, and less experienced colleagues to develop their skills.
