Chief Research Scientist

Chief Research Scientist/Engineer London – 4/5 days pw Up to £300k + equity London based AI startup with Series A lined up for 2025.
Opportunity to work on one of the most important and impactful challenges of our time.
I'm supporting a well-funded AI startup in London who are looking for a Chief Researcher to join an already hugely impressive and talented team.

You'll be tasked with leading research projects, training frontier AI models and ultimately contributing to Scalable Oversight by teaching AI to handle tasks that humans find too complex to judge on their own.

As a key member of the founding team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the product's success, drive the company's growth, and set a new standard of excellence while building an elite team of researchers and engineers.

Essential experience: Experience working at a top AI research lab.
Published papers in the domain of LLMs and have multiple publications in top conferences e.g.
ICML, NeurIPS, CVPR etc.
Degree from a top university (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT etc_ Experience in one of the following areas – scalable oversight, RLHF, deep reinforcement learning, and AI evaluations.
Background defining research agendas and leading research teams.
Experience at a high-growth startup (this isn't 100% essential as long as the above criteria has been met).
