The Company recently reached their seed funding and this is now a crucial & exciting time for the business as we look to appoint a Chief of Staff.
This role is highly autonomous and will see you influence and pioneer a new class of renewable energy to help combat climate change.
The Role This key role is instrumental in ensuring the strategic and operational alignment of the Executive and leadership teams across the DRIFT business.
With a focus on driving operational efficiency, anticipating challenges and finding solutions, this role is a key contributor to the smooth and efficient running of the business and shaping the company's growth and development.
Your Task Oversee and manage corporate strategy and activities, including recruitment, people and capabilities activities and financial planning.
· Within 3 months - Own and manage the phase 2 recruitment process and hire remaining roles.
· Within 6 months - Monitor and develop the people activities with a particular focus on company development with a view to building organisational capability and improving people survey scores.
· In 6-12 months - Lead and implement key strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business strategies and goals and deliver against agreed timeframes.
CEO support ensuring their time is used effectively on the most pressing issues.
Acting as a trusted counsellor to the CEO and being an active member of the leadership team.
· Within 3 months - CEO diary management and other EA duties.
· Within 3-6 months - Company admin accountability - travels, events, insurances, office safety.
· Manage and escalate risks across the business and escalate as appropriate with recommended solutions.
Build key relationships with the whole DRIFT team including Directors, Advisors and Consultants.
· Within 3 months - Establish regular cadence with PR, HR and Finance functions for progress and actions.
· Within 6 months - Manage and facilitate the Board of Director and Board of Advisor meetings including building materials for these sessions.
Improving the company's ongoing processes and organising procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
This includes aligning with the PM for management reporting.
· Within 3 months - Creation of a centralised file management system with defined levels of accessibility.
· Within 6 months - Audit where efficiencies can be made with feedback from the team Support marketing and PR activities including updating website, LinkedIn and X.
· Within 6 months - Prepare and submit award applications.
· Within 6 months - Refresh and update for website with new content for Series A.
Support for Investor fundraising · Within 3 months - Establish Investor relationship tracking tool · Within 3-6 months - Co-ordinate with CEO to execute the 'Outreach' phase of engagement · Within 3-6 months - Monitor mailbox and be the contact for front line interactions with Investors Your Skills and Experience Essential Skills & Experience: · Experience of operational processes and effectiveness in a growing business · Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities · Ability to work autonomously and handle confidential information with discretion · Strong organisational skills and swift to pivot if required Desirable Skills & Experience: · Experience within the Maritime and Energy sectors · Project management skills or other experiences with running agile teams · Exceptional communication skills and presentation skills · Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills · Leadership and management experience Compensation and Benefits ?
