Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO)Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation TrustWe have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and talented individual to join the team at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the role of Chief Nursing Information Officer.
The Chief Nursing Information Officer will be an integral member of the Chief Nurse Senior leadership team and will provide proactive senior nursing leadership serving as the principle nursing advisor for the Epic (EPR) Programme, Digital Research Innovation and Virtual Environments (DRIVE) Programme, and the Transformational programme. The CNIO will also be pivotal in taking forward the digital innovation agenda specifically for Nurses and Allied Health Professions as part of their professional strategies.
o They will have overall responsibility for clinical safety and compliance with all nursing and allied health professional related standards, protocols and guidelines set either by the Trust or nationally by external bodies, including professional regulation.o They will hold accountability for the scope and progress of nursing and allied health professionals' development within the Trust's EPR system.o Identify, report on and manage EPR clinical risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate all identified risks and issues.o Ensure controls are in place to assess the impact of changes introduced within programmes managed with respect to clinical safety and patient outcomes.
Main duties of the jobThe Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) will:o Act as a positive role model through the provision of effective senior professional leadership, demonstration of competent, high quality clinical practice.o Serve as the principal informatics advisor to the Chief Nurse and the Nursing Leadership team, advising and guiding stakeholders on opportunities for the use of new technology and other innovations as a member of the Nursing Delivery Committee.o Work in partnership with all directorates to progress and support and the delivery of clinical transformation, (including optimisation and adoption of the EPR system), supporting resolution of any issues where they are identified.o Provide support in relation to workforce development, training, recruitment and performance management of the nursing and AHP informatics team.o Use expert clinical knowledge and experience to guide the wider EPR team to develop pathways and new processes to support the development of integrated care pathways within the Epic application and support the introduction of new models of care more broadly across the organisation.o Work in partnership with the CCIO, CRIO and other GOSH clinical IT champions, to design future clinical and research processes and workflows.o Act as an ambassador for digital innovation by collaborative partnership working with our system partners.o Line manage a team of Nursing and Allied Health Information Officers.
