As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will be responsible for financial strategy, planning, and risk management, while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in fundraising and financial management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to foresee market trends, manage financial risks, and capitalise on new opportunities to support Material Evolution's ambitious growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:Owning the financial strategy of the business and contributing to the commercial strategy.Lead the preparation and execution of fundraising processes, including Series B and subsequent funding rounds. Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to attract and engage investors.Develop and execute an optimal capital structure for Material Evolution by effectively leveraging debt, offtake agreements, and diverse financial instruments.Strategically balance funding sources to enhance financial performance, support sustainable growth, and achieve the company's strategic goals.Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Provide insights to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.Identify strategic grant opportunities that align with the company's objectives. Secure and manage grants to supplement funding, ensuring compliance and strategic use of grant resources.Identify and manage financial risks. Implement policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with financial regulations.Optimise financial operations, including accounting, tax, and treasury functions. Implement systems to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.Communicate financial performance and strategy to the board of directors, investors, and employees.Experience in investment banking, providing a deep understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.Expertise in capital structuring and leveraging financial instruments to optimise financial performance and support sustainable growth.Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance and operational efficiencies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.Ability to forecast accuracy, ensuring the board and leadership team have a clear view on current and future financial performance.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and external partners.Experience working in a start-up environment, preferable but not essential.Our Benefits and Perks:At Material Evolution, we provide everything you need to perform at your best.
