A vast array of companies rely on the performance of joining and inspection technologies.
TWI works with many of the biggest names in global industry across sectors such as oil & gas, power, chemicals, aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, off-highway, light to heavy fabrication, and medical.
It supports original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), as well as material and consumable manufacturers.
It also supports research organisations, participating in a large range of collaborations as part of UK and international publicly funded research initiatives.

Working on some of the world's most exciting and technologically challenging projects, the brief for the Chief Executive is to bring a transformational level of dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit, driven by the interests of its Professional Members, Industrial Members, and staff.
Develop and implement the strategy for the organisation in conjunction with the Chair and other members of the Council.
Provide strong, clear, hands-on and inspirational leadership across all levels of the organisation, transforming the culture to be more creative, ambitious, and dynamic.
Play a prominent role in developing external partnerships to extend the product and service portfolio and geographical reach.
Have an empathy for and the ability to balance research and the development of intellectual property, with the pursuit of profitable growth and commercial excellence.
Individual Above all, we are looking for an inspiring, ambitious, and inclusive leader who has experience of leading strategic change.
They must be able to demonstrate transformational skills, both in terms of culture and performance, as well as have an entrepreneurial approach to leadership.
This is a role for a passionate and talented executive who thrives on the pursuit of innovation and long-term sustainable enterprise-wide excellence.
A progressive and successful career in a research & development or technology-rich environment, ideally with some experience of working at the intersection between industry, Government, and academia.
A proven leader with a strong commercial background, who has ideally held P&L responsibility with a marketing and customer/member focus.
A confident, accomplished leadership style, with excellent communication skills, adept at developing highly motivated, winning teams operating to world-class standards of performance.
