Project 6 is at an exciting time in our journey, having a strong established reputation for high quality, high impact work across West and South Yorkshire. We are now searching for a new CEO to lead us into the next phase of our development, following a fantastic last 10 years under the leadership of our current CEO.
The role will primarily focus on three areas: People, External Partnerships, and Governance. These underpin all the great work done by us as a charity. It will be your role to drive the future strategy and partnership work alongside an established Board of Trustees, Senior Leadership Team, and Management team.
In return, you will work and lead a charity that has a much bigger voice than our size, driving social change in the Drug & Alcohol sector. We currently work in Keighley, Bradford, Sheffield, and Doncaster, delivering services to people experiencing challenges linked to drugs, alcohol, and multiple disadvantages, and have been doing so for over 30 years.

Key responsibilities can be separated into 4 categories: Leadership Lead the SLT to live our values and deliver effectively and efficiently on agreed priorities and objectivesDevelop the SLT into a high performing, high support/high challenge teamProvide visible, supportive but challenging leadership to the whole organisationLead and role model our commitment to diversity and inclusionGovernance Develop and deploy governance systems that enable the Chair and Board of Trustees to discharge their legal and moral duties in ensuring Project 6 meets its objectives for public benefitWork with the Board to agree long-term strategic objectives and plansLead the delivery of clear performance reports to the Board each quarter across the 4 quadrants of the Strategic ObjectivesEnsure that the Board receives all the information, support, and training it requires and support the Board's recruitment, induction, and review processes as requiredResources Lead and develop effective, robust, and transparent financial planning and reportingDevelop an organization that is efficient and cost-effective, with as much resource as possible deployed to the front lineLead on the identification and effective management of organizational riskLead on the development of a People Framework to maximize the organization's talent and performanceLead endeavors to make the best use of digital technologies to empower staff and make services more accessibleEnsure that the organization develops a culture of continual improvementQuality & Compliance Ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures for the organization, including an organizational-wide assurance systemMaintain up-to-date knowledge of current issues, best practices, and local and national policy in relevant fields such as Substance Use, Addiction Recovery, Asset-Based Community Development, Families Work, and SafeguardingLead the organization in being a healthy and safe place to work and to access services by developing and owning P6's health and safety management systemStrategically lead our commitment and adherence to safeguardingShortlisting is scheduled to be completed by 30th March 2024 with initial interviews taking place in the first 2 weeks of April. Project 6 is an award-winning voluntary sector drug and alcohol charity working across Yorkshire in Keighley, Sheffield, and Doncaster. We have been delivering services for people experiencing challenges connected to drug and alcohol use and multiple disadvantage in our local communities for over 35 years.
We are a harm-reduction and recovery-focused service, working to help people reduce the risks associated with substance use, and we offer highly effective, evidence-based support to drug and alcohol users and their families.
