Chief Executive - Chartered Banker Institute

Details of the offer

The Chartered Banker Institute Founded in 1875, the Chartered Banker Institute is the world's oldest banking institute, proudly serving a global community of over 35,000 members.
The Institute provides essential support for professional development in key areas such as credit and lending, risk management, ethics, and emerging topics like digital finance, artificial intelligence, and sustainable finance.
From students to senior Fellows, members rely on the Institute for thought leadership and top-quality learning resources.
The Role Headquartered in Edinburgh, the Institute's successful global membership extends beyond the UK.
With its 150th anniversary approaching in 2025, this milestone represents both a time for celebration and a key opportunity for transformation.
To guide them through this period of change, we are seeking a people-focused Chief Executive who can leverage the Institute's charitable and Chartered status to ensure its continued relevance to the current and future careers of a global, multi-disciplinary banking sector.
The Candidate Our ideal candidate will have a clear vision for cultivating a dynamic and innovative team culture, along with a strong commitment to acting in the public interest.
They will have the ability to deliver commercial programs and services, working closely with a highly engaged Board.
Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets of £5-10 million, is crucial, as is the ability to build partnerships with senior banking leaders and international organisations.
As the face of the Institute, the Chief Executive will be a hands-on leader, advocating for professional standards in banking while fostering credibility and trust with members, Fellows, industry leaders, and global partners, including the UN.
A passion for learning and the ability to curate impactful curricula for our members are key, along with an interest in technological advancement and a forward-thinking approach to how the Institute can lead the way.
We would love to hear from those with a strong passion for leadership, along with robust influencing and strategic thinking abilities.
Commercial awareness and strong financial acumen are necessary for success, while keeping customer needs at the heart of decision-making.
Equal Opportunities The Chartered Banker Institute is committed to being an equal opportunities employer.
We value and celebrate the benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including age, disability, gender, race, nationality, religion, or belief.
We are therefore looking to speak with credible leaders from a wide range of backgrounds including those with experience in professional bodies or membership organisations in any sector.
