Job summary SouthTyneside District Hospital is looking to recruit 3 Qualified Chefs who will berequired to work and provide cover across 7 days.2full time 40 hours posts will cover 5 days out of 7 - 8 hours per day- workingThe3 day per week post will cover Saturday & Sunday plus one weekday; thisrota may alternate working (enhancements paid).These posts are predominantly backshift.

StartingSalary £25,669 rising to £27,395 plus enhancements.Recentpost holders of these roles have earned over £29,000 per annum with overtimeand paid enhancements.27Days annual leave and up to 8 bank holidays (pro-rata) Main duties of the job To complete daily food servicetasks to Trust locations.
To ensure the patient, staff and visitor meal serviceis provided in a safe, clean and hygienic environment.
Ensure high standards ofcleanliness are met and maintained.Ensure that all food supplieswhich are delivered are checked following the Food Safety Management System(FSMS).To be flexible on a day-to-daybasis moving area to area and across departments within catering.
To prepare, produce, cook, andserve food to patients, staff and visitors.To always maintain a clean safehygienic work area, adopting a clean as you go policy record and accuratelyfood safety information.
Chefs are expected to show aflexible attitude to work and work routine, as this can and will change fromday to day.
On occasion, the chefs will be required to work additional hours toensure service continuity, additional hours are paid at overtime or enhanced ratesdepending on contract.
Skills for food preparation andserving are required, ensuring deadline service times are met.Fine knife skills required foraccuracy and speed with preparation.All aspects of food productionmethods and the completion of food safety records.
