We are seeking a committed team player to assist with the provision of the catering service within the Hospital.
As a Chef they will be required to: Undertake the planning, preparation and cooking of meals taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements.
Ensure the cost-effective and efficient control of stock including placing orders for food products and the checking/reconciliation of deliveries.
Ensure food waste is minimised.
Assist the Head Chef by researching and creating new menus ensuring these are of high quality and complement healthy eating guidelines.
Participate in meetings with Ward Managers/Dieticians to discuss patient menus, issues, preferences, and dietary requirements.
Undertake any other duties as directed by the Head Chef in the provision of a high quality service.
Knowledge and Skills: NVQ2 or equivalent or qualified by experience in Catering together with a basic qualification in Food Hygiene.
Experience within a professional kitchen environment.
