Job Description We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef/Cook Supervisor to join our culinary team in Hereford.
As a Chef/Cook Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring good-quality food preparation, and leading a team of kitchen staff to deliver great dining experiences.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service Develop and implement menu items, considering seasonality, local ingredients, and customer preferences Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment Manage inventory, place orders, and control food costs to meet budgetary goals Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure proper usage and cleanliness Collaborate with management to improve kitchen processes and enhance overall dining experience Assist in creating and implementing new recipes and culinary concepts Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen Qualifications Catering qualification from a recognised institution Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with proven supervisory experience Strong culinary knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques Excellent leadership and team management skills In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current Food Safety Certification Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment effectively Strong organisational and time management skills Proficient in budgeting and cost control Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergens Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Additional Information We offer a generous benefits package which includes: Employee Assistance Programme 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) and your birthday off in addition Ongoing Learning, Development & Training Access to Occupational Health Cycle Scheme Pension Scheme  Free Meal on Shift The position would be subject to an Enhanced DBS Payable By Employer BaxterStorey is an equal opportunities employer.
