Overview Pdap is the largest specialist domestic abuse charity in Kirklees, delivering services to victims of domestic abuse for over 20 years through our emergency accommodation and community outreach services. We are a values led organisation that places our clients at the centre of all we do. This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a new refuge project and launch new community services in partnership with KBOP, and KDASS.

Our new CEO will be a visionary and strategic leader, who is passionate about ending domestic abuse and empowering survivors. Pdap is already a leading charity in Kirklees working in partnership to improve the response to domestic abuse, but we know we can do more to create positive change and make a tangible difference to the lives of those affected.
You will lead the development and delivery of the strategic plan for the organisation at a pivotal time in our history. Continuing to raise our external profile, you will develop strategic partnerships that further our mission. You will drive the organisation to long-term financial sustainability and nurture a culture that is kind, inclusive, compassionate, open, empowering, bold and never shies away from the challenges ahead.
Main responsibilities: Leading and Managing the Organisation
Develop and lead the strategic vision and direction in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board.Be committed to PDAP's Mission and Values, placing the victim at the heart of all activities.Work with the board to ensure the strategic vison is being met and organisational risks are managed and PDAP is sustainable.Embed inclusive practices at every level of PDAP ensuring all victims of domestic abuse can access support that is timely and responsive.Be responsible for PDAPs performance outcomes and progress to ensure improvement.External Partnerships
Maintain strong and effective partnership arrangements with local and national commissioners, strategic bodies, and key stakeholders.Ensure the organisation is presented in an appropriate and professional manner to its stakeholders.To develop and be actively involved in external partnership work through sitting on Boards/Committees, attending relevant external group meetings and networking.Provide effective leadership and management of the organisation to maximise its effectiveness whilst maintaining strong, effective working relationships both internally & externally to grow PDAP's influence and reach.Staffing
Provide quarterly line management reviews, ongoing support and appraise the work of staff reporting directly to the CEO.Model the values of PDAP and shape the organisational culture ensuring clients are central to all we do.Invest in the development of our staff to ensure PDAP remains a safe, supportive and effective place to work.Leading, managing and motivating staff and volunteers to deliver PDAP's services ensuring a culture conducive to team working, continuous improvement and learning.Implement and monitor all PDAPs policies and procedures, to ensure effective management and support of all staffFinancial Management
Lead business development and income generation opportunities, and ensure PDAP has the resources required to fulfil its mission.Ensure that PDAP has the resources (human, material and financial) to operate as effectively as possible.Be responsible to the trustees for the overall financial health of the organisation.General Responsibilities
Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure it receives information on all relevant matters to enable PDAP to fulfil its governance responsibilities.To ensure that the security of sensitive information is maintained and complies with GDPR requirements.To participate and share the leading of full staff meetings.To participate fully in supervision and appraisal processes and to take up training and continuing professional development opportunities.To spend time working throughout PDAP in all sites to maintain a deep understanding of service delivery, staff challenges and to promote PDAPs culture.Person Specification
Experience working in a senior leadership role within domestic abuse or similar third sector charity.Strong leadership skills, including developing and supporting diverse staff teams.Experience working at a senior level in management and/or leadership of an organisation that has a track record of good performance and financial stability.Experience of developing income generation.Experience of charity or public sectors, ideally within aligned organisations e.g. domestic abuse organisations, poverty, disability, mental health, anti-racism, LGBT+, etc.Experience of working with commissioned contracts and managing effective relationships with key partners, commissioners and stakeholders.Knowledge
Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and the intersecting barriers for people accessing support.Sound understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.Sound understanding of organisational leadership.Skills and abilities
