Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Booking Clerk within our Specialist Medicine CAU.
We are looking for a hard working, organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and use initiative.
The role involves the booking of Outpatient appointments, answering telephone calls and monitoring waiting lists in line with Trust policy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in this varied role.
The specialist medicine team is a friendly hardworking group of staff that work as a team they are flexible and also work independently.
If you think you have the necessary skills and experience and would like to join our team, this could be a suitable position for you.
You will need to have excellent communication skills especially working with the general public, as well as being dedicated to providing an efficient and effective service.
You will be working closely with members of the Clinical Admin Unit in order to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job Plan and coordinate outpatient clinics working in close liaison with the Senior Booking Clerk.
Ability to exercise initiative, have an independent judgement and decision making with situations arising.
To facilitate in service improvement to streamline a patient's journey and to ensure that the Trust delivers a quality service and gold standard of patient care.
You will be IT literate, able to meet deadlines and also have an attention to detail.
Knowledge of Allscripts would be highly desirable but this is not essential, as training will be provided.
You must be methodical and organised in your approach and thrive on the opportunity to make a genuine difference Please note that this role may often attract a high level of applications.
