Job summary We are looking for catering assistant for our Weekday shift working 4hrs between 11:00-15:00 Monday to Friday, who is able to work as part of a team to deliver a quality service as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by Supervisory Staff.

Working as part of the Catering Team, assisting in all aspects of the service including wash-up and cleaning duties related to the provision of our high quality catering service to patients.
Main duties of the job The main duties include the following:Setting up and preparation of supper trolleysPreparation of items for the following days breakfastDelivery of any ad hoc meals as ordered by the wardsAnswering of telephone calls and responding to as requiredYou will be responsible for the service of supper meals to a minimum of one ward using a pre-populated menu cardYou will be responsible for the collection of all trays, crockery and cutlery from the wards ensuring all equipment is returned to the departmentAlong with your team of colleagues you will clear, clean and put away all equipment from the supper lunch service using an industrial dishwasher for the part of the cleaning processYou will be responsible for the hygienic cleaning of the department along with your team members ready for the next shiftYou must be able to communicate with multi-disciplinary staff and make informed decisions at point of service and within the department.

Job description Job responsibilities To maintain a polite and efficient relationship with all service users.The ability to follow instructions.Ensure hygiene regulations and practises as laid down by the Food Hygiene Regulations are adhered to.To maintain high standards of environmental hygiene adhering to cleaning procedures and correct use of chemicalsTo portion meals in the correct manner ensuring the products are aesthetically presented and that they follow the menu choice, dietary requirements and correct portion sizes at all times.To complete all relevant control documents recording temperatures, waste and other prescribed documents.To ensure the correct use, storage and rotation of all food products.There is a requirement to spend long periods of time standing through the shift.Constant moving and handling of stock, pans, clearing trolleys and meal trolleys.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Good General Education Good Literacy and Numerical skills Desirable Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Experience Essential Experience of working in a catering or hospitality environment.
Ability to deal with a diverse range of people face to face and over the phone.
Able to communicate within the team and wider audience.
Ability to follow verbal and written processes and procedures.
